Maryana Steshenko

Born in Ukraine, in the city of Sumy, in 1987.

My professional journey in fashion and costume design began in Ukraine, in the city of Dnipro, at a bespoke women’s clothing studio. For two years, I worked on design development, pattern making, and was directly involved in the garment production process, gaining solid practical knowledge of form, materials, and construction.

In 2009, I founded my own women’s clothing brand, where I served as head designer and pattern maker. The brand regularly released seasonal Spring–Summer and Autumn–Winter collections, and since 2016 I became a regular participant of Ukrainian Fashion Week. During this period, I was honored with the “Best Young Designer of the Year” award. At the same time, I collaborated with stylists working with Ukrainian show business stars and worked with public figures.

After concluding work on my own brand, I continued my career as a personal stylist and consultant. I styled photo and video shoots for commercial brands, participated in the production of music videos for Ukrainian bands, and also worked in the visual merchandising department at Charisma Fashion Group. There, I was responsible for window displays featuring new collections and managed a video blog for a men’s and women’s clothing boutique.

Following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, I moved to Austria with my family, where I began a new stage of my career in the theater field.

Since then, I have been working as an assistant costume designer at the musical theater in Linz. During this time, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with leading costume designers and directors on musical productions, musicals, and opera performances.
